Project Background & Goals
Since 2010, Samsung Precision Chemistry has expanded its large-scale investment for new businesses and production and expansion with the aim of making a leap forward as a top-class chemical materials company. Based on the formulation of the PI (Process Innovation) master plan, the demand department and the supply department are synchronized, and the goal of SCM is to build a ” weekly SCM system ” We have started an SCM system construction project for all products. As a detailed issue, we first decided to formulate an optimal demand forecast and supply plan that takes into account the business characteristics of each business division. Next, I decided to build a system that can be executed as planned on a weekly basis by linking SCM, ERP, and MES. As a third issue, I decided to build a business scenario-based SCM UI (User Interface) to build an information system that enables decision-making on a weekly basis. The scope of the project is to cover all SCM areas including Demand Planning, Master Planning, Factory Planning, and S&OP, and to implement Zionex solutions for that purpose. Decided.
In the area of demand forecasting, we have expanded the visibility of distribution inventory and sales performance, and actually reduced the number of distribution inventory days. In ordering, management risk has been reduced by synchronizing order date management and process management from customers. Furthermore, the on-time delivery rate has been improved and customer satisfaction has improved. By synchronizing demand and supply through the execution of the weekly supply plan, we prevented production without demand and achieved inventory reduction. In addition, weekly S & OP meetings have made it possible to solve problems quickly. In the production planning area, the supply chain MP (mater planning) system is used to execute production as planned.

Under the slogan of ”Future of Materials”, Toray Advanced Materials promoted the formulation and execution of detailed strategies to achieve the sales targets set. For this reason, in the SCM area, we have built an interlocking system between sales and production, and through the operation of optimal doubling (production) plans and timely production, inventory reduction, visualization for sales and production, I tried to get the effect of minimizing the production loss. The two APS system construction projects, in the first stage, are company-wide demand and supply chain planning for films, non-woven fabrics, IT materials, threads, etc., production scheduling, planned vs. actual KPIs, and APS standards. Realized the establishment and so on. In the second phase, we are working to improve the APS system for the Film Division, improving the flexibility, convenience, and expandability by improving the UI and speed of the system, and promoting the strengthening of customer responsiveness.
Through the construction and operation of the APS system, Toray Advanced Materials was able to improve its sales forecast based on its monthly sales plan and analysis of capacity by production line. In addition, it has become possible to reduce inventory and ensure visibility for production by managing the execution rate of sales plan and production plan ratio, inventory turnover KPI management, and random generation history management and control. In addition, the user-friendly UI (User Interface) has greatly improved convenience and business response speed, and the sales and manufacturing departments share customer registration information, improving the ability to respond to sudden orders.
